On December 4, 2015, Amy and some of her colleagues were honored with the Minnesota Department of Human Services Commissioner’s Circle of Excellence Award for their work around opioid addicted and dependent Native American women.  Of the 67 opioid addicted women who had come to see Amy in clinic, there were only 2 who were unable to take their newborn home from the hospital because of illicit opioid use
